The author of fourteen trade poetry collections including a compact of words (Ireland: Salmon Publishing, 2007), mclennan has three more books out in 2007, including Ottawa: The Unknown City (Arsenal Pulp Press), subverting the lyric: essays (ECW Press) and the novella White (The Mercury Press). His poetry, fiction and critical work has appeared in over one hundred journals and anthologies in eleven countries and three languages. mclennan is also, among other things, the editor/publisher of above/ground press and the long poem magazine STANZAS (both founded in 1993), the online critical journal Poetics.ca (with Ottawa poet Stephen Brockwell) and the Ottawa poetry annual ottawater (ottawater.com).
