Notes: Regina, Saskatchewan resident Tracy Hamon is a barber and a poet. Her first book of poetry, This is Not Eden, was released in April 2005 and was a finalist for two Saskatchewan Book Awards. In May of 2005 she won the City of Regina Writing Award for a second manuscript of poems.
"Smart-mouthed poems, these: tangy, flip, compact in their casual sass. Hamon zings back at us the little words and phrases we throw away, her ear acute for the edges of our sloppy talk. Snap out of it, oh come off it, go on, these poems say with a lush precision. Her voice is also aimed inward at times, cautious and sensuous: exuberance brooding. "
